I didn’t expect a tiny camera to completely change the vibe of a night out with friends.
But somehow… it did.
A few weeks ago, one of my friends showed up to dinner with this tiny retro-looking camera clipped onto her keys.
At first everyone kind of laughed at it.
It looked like something straight out of 2006.
Tiny. Plastic. Almost toy-like.
But throughout the night she kept taking these random little flash photos of everyone at the table.
Nothing posed.
Nobody stopping to “look good.”
Just moments.
Someone laughing too hard. Drinks spilling. Blurry city lights through the taxi window afterward. A badly framed picture of fries that somehow became everyone’s favorite photo of the night.
And weirdly…
the camera completely changed the energy of the evening.
People started grabbing it from each other. Everyone wanted to take pictures. Everyone wanted to see the photos afterward.
At one point we were all sitting around laughing at blurry flash pictures like we were teenagers again.
And honestly?
I can’t explain why exactly…
but those tiny imperfect photos felt more emotional than almost anything sitting inside my iPhone camera roll.
